ПОЗИТИВНЫЕ И НЕГАТИВНЫЕ АСПЕКТЫ ТОЛЕРАНТНОСТИ К ДРУГИМ КУЛЬТУРАМ

Abstract

In the article essense and definitive features of interaction and mutual perception of representatives of different ethnocultural communities of belarus in the past and nowadays are researched. The authors consider positive and negative aspects of intercultural tolerance in terms of polyethnic population of republic of belarus. The conclusion is made that healthy, moderate tolerance promotes strengthening mutual understanding among members of different ethnocultural communities; but excessive, sick tolerance, vise versa, can lead to gradual acculturation and assimilation of a certain people by another one, to impoverishment of a certain one or several ethnic groups. A special concept “readiness of culture to intercultural interaction” is inroduced; it is understood as a status of culture allowing it to interact extensively and successfully with other cultures conserving also its unicity and originality.
