Abstract
This article explores the specificity of the positioning of the Renaissance poet Johann Mylius from Liebenrode as a producteur culturel (Pierre Bourdieu) from the viewpoint of the author’s disposition between the field of literature and the field of power. Several of his poetic dedications in Ancient Greek and Latin are analyzed. Johann Mylius’s poetic dedications serve as examples for investigating his use of the Christian perspective in interpreting classical myths, application of the classical topoi and Christian metaphors, and combination of a multitude of literary strategies. Further complex research of the literary heritage of the poet from Liebenrode will help shape a new perspective on the multicultural intentions of the European Renaissance humanists
