The real tasks, which are set for music and pedagogical education, require the enhancement of professional competence of a teacher. In practice there is a contradiction between the society requirement to form a spiritual and moral personality having a strong civic position, and the real situation in education, when pedagogical and developing training possibilities (in music included) are not used entirely, and teachers develop only their special musical abilities and skills, when being professionally trained. There is a gap between musical and pedagogical training of teachers, there are no requirements in educational standards concerning their personal and professional qualities. The subjective space of pedagogues-musicians extends through the professional and pedagogical, special and musical formation of their personality, through the enrichment of their moral self-consciousness that includes the development of important personal qualities and mechanisms of regulation of relationship and behaviour. The dialectical unity of all professionalism components is an objective premise for successful musical and pedagogical activity. Psychological and pedagogical competence, as well as personal and professional qualities of teachers, determine their special and musical competence, and their competence as performers. Qualitative education of music teachers will be possible when we turn to new generations of standards according to which the professionalism requirements are not limited by a special, psychological and pedagogical training, but necessarily include the spectrum of personal and professional qualities that define ability and possibility of a person to carry out musical and pedagogical activity fully and effectively. |
