Abstract

Роман Джейн Гамильтон «Прекрасные Ломбарды» посвящен нравственной проблематике, формированию личности героини в контексте фермерской жизни в США последнего десятилетия ХХ – начала XXI в. Любовь к ферме, к прекрасному яблоневому саду и желание наследовать их, ревность по отношению к другим возможным наследникам определяют век-тор развития личности героини. Психологическая трагедия героини этого романа имеет социальные корни, четко выявленные писательницей. Трагедия небольших ферм в начале XXI в. в том, что у них нет будущего, и будущие фермеры, молодежь, это понимаютJane Hamilton's novel The Excellent Lombards is devoted to moral issues, the formation of the heroine's personality in the context of farm life in the USA of the last decade of the twentieth-early twenty-first century.
