Abstract

The article is devoted to the consideration of the processes of reproduction and transformation of the institutions of "parenthood", "motherhood", "paternity" in Soviet and post-Soviet Belarus. Ideology and politics in relation to the genders, the family, parenthood and reproduction are an integral part of the state social policy. It spends the interests of women and men as major sociodemographic groups, shapes their legal and social status, regulates relations with society, affects their social well-being. The Belarusian state, like any other, participates in the macro-level in the reproduction and transformation of relations in the private sphere, changing the view on the role of the institution ofparenthood in the life of society and the individual.
