The anisotropy of the magnetic field induced resistive transition in single crystal Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8

Abstract

The dissipation observed at the superconducting transition of the high-Tc superconductor Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O8 bulk sample is explained by the Kosterlitz – Thouless theory of vortex – antivortex pair excitations within the CuO2 planes.
