ТРАНСФОРМАЦИЯ МИФА ОБ ОРФЕЕ В РАССКАЗЕ Д. БЕЙЛИ «МЕЛОДИЯ ДЛЯ ОРФЕЯ»

Abstract

В рассказе Д. Бейли «Мелодия для Орфея» обнаруживаются аллюзии, отсылающие к мифу об Орфее. Сюжет рассказа прочитывается через призму этого мифа для понимания авторской концепции человека и его взаимоотношений с миром. Делается вывод, что в произведении канадского писателя происходит разрушение канонического орфического мифа и наполнение его новым смыслом. Образ влюбленного певца Орфея сменяется образом не способного ни к любви, ни к творчеству Антиорфея, который отождествляется с современным человеком, а спуск в царство мертвых и попытка возвращения в мир живых трактуется как путь познания себя, идентификации собственной личности.

D. Bailey’s short story «A Few Notes for Orpheus» reveals allusions referring to the myth of Orpheus. The plot of the story is read through the prism of this myth to understand the author’s concept of man and his relationship with the world. It is concluded that in the work of the Canadian writer there is a destruction of the canonical orphic myth and filling it with a new meaning. The image of the singer Orpheus in love is replaced by the image of the Anti-Orpheus, who is not capable of either love or creativity, who is identified with a modern person, and the descent into the realm of the dead and the attempt to return to the world of the living is interpreted as a way of knowing oneself, identifying one’s own personality.
