VOCAL SALON TEACHING IN CHINA HIGHER VOCATIONAL COLLEGES

Abstract

In music education, vocal teaching is its indispensable part, and the fundamental purpose of music education is to cultivate people in a musical way. However, in recent years, due to the “expansion” policy of Chinese education and the saturation of vocal music majors, vocal music teaching in higher education institutions has gradually exposed a series of drawbacks and produced “indoctrination” and “feeding” vocal music teaching methods, and the traditional vocal music teaching methods have failed to meet the requirements of teaching objectives and the purpose of cultivating people. In this article, we try to combine western “salon” music with vocal teaching, improve and innovate the traditional vocal teaching methods, and achieve the purpose of mobilizing students' enthusiasm and improving the quality of vocal learning from teaching practice.
