ПРОБЛЕМА ОРИЕНТАЛИЗМА В ИССЛЕДОВАНИЯХ БЕРНАРДА ЛЬЮИСА

Abstract

Статья посвящена оценке ориентализма в западном востоковедении, в частности, в трудах знаменитого американского ученого Бернарда Льюиса, главного защитника западной востоковедческой традиции и противника постколониальной теории. В статье проанализированы основные аргументы Б. Льюиса, выдвинутые против концепции «ориентализма», предложенной одним из основоположников постколониальной теории Эдвардом Саидом. Дана оценка научному подходу Б. Льюиса к ориентализму как важному историческому этапу в развитии востоковедческих дисциплин Запада, определено место его научного наследия в американском и в целом в западном востоковедении. В статье сделан вывод о том, что научный подход Б. Льюиса определил основной спектр современной критики постколониальной теории и обеспечил сохранение непрерывности в развитии востоковедения на Западе. The article is devoted to estimating orientalism in western oriental studies, in particular, in the studies of a famous American scientist Bernard Lewis, the main advocate of western oriental studies tradition and opponent of post-colonial theory. The article analyzes the main arguments of B. Lewis advanced against the concept of orientalism suggested by one of the founders of post-colonial theory Edward Said. It gives estimation to the scientific approach of B. Lewis to orientalism as an important historical stage in the development of oriental studies disciplines of the West, defines the place of its scientific heritage in American and in general in western oriental studies. The article makes a conclusion that the scientific approach of B. Lewis has defined the main spectrum of modern criticism of post-colonial theory and provided preservation of sustainability in development of oriental studies in the West.
