Abstract
The paper focuses on metaphors that are functioning in the lingodidactic discourse. The German and Russian language corpus of binary nominal structures with a metaphorical head will be identified.
Metaphors of artefact, nature, sport, game, textile, human’s professional premises, military, locative source domain have been established. The dominant and peripheral semantic groups are described, structural vectors of metaphorization are highlighted. The proposed systematization of metaphors will expand the methodological arsenal of a foreign language teacher.
